“ This spot has a laid-back, semi-divey vibe with awesome waterfront views. The staff was friendly and attentive, and everything came out hot and fast. The seafood was incredibly fresh. The clam chowder was a generous portion, packed with tender clams and hearty potatoes--rich, creamy, and full of flavor. The Cajun popcorn shrimp was lightly breaded, perfectly crispy, and super fresh. The drink menu was reasonably priced, making it a great place to grab a casual dinner or just stop in for drinks and an appetizer. Definitely a place I'd come back to! ”
“ I eat here leisurely, off the beaten path, to beat the crowds... It was 11:30... We had a table in the back, Will our server was great. He did an excellent job on the training board as always, the Fisherman's Platter hit the spot... plenty of fried scallops, clams and shrimp. My sister-in-law had the fish and chips, my girlfriend had the calamari salad, my sister had the buttered lobster roll. All delicious... We ate at Yaki Lobster the next day thanks to a tip from the Uber driver... also excellent... also... My only complaint about Boston Cell Phone is that they failed to change the Allgash White they said was kept for your wheat beeration to be comfortable and quiet. For health reasons it was Blue Me, then (I think) Harpoon's UF and... both reasonably acceptable alternatives, but now these clown shows... and some value... There should be an approach where the standards of maintaining the quality of work and spectrum meet... for clowns it doesn't. You can bettah. Doubt you'll find a better server... well-prepared, enthusiastic, and mehr. ”
“ Boston Sail Loft is a long-standing seafood restaurant situated on the Long Wharf, a prime location for those seeking fresh New England classics by the water. The staff are welcoming and attentive, ensuring that orders are taken quickly and served promptly. They are knowledgeable about the menu, offering helpful recommendations and addressing dietary needs with care. The food lives up to its reputation. While the prices lean slightly higher, the generous portions and quality more than justify the cost. The clam chowder is a standout--easily one of the best I've had--with fresh, flavorful ingredients and a perfectly creamy consistency. Fried dishes, like fish and chips, are crisp and well-cooked, avoiding the greasiness that sometimes accompanies fried foods. Overall, Boston Sail Loft is a must-visit spot for seafood lovers, whether you're a local or just passing through the Long Wharf area. The combination of great service, hearty portions, and exceptional dishes like the clam chowder makes it a worthwhile experience. ”
“ I'm originally from Maine and grew up eating clam chowder. I live in Texas now so it's very hard to get a good chowder. While in Boston last week we decided to try Boston Sail Loft because of all the reviews on Yelp! First to know, they do not take reservations, it's a walk up first come first serve. We were a party of two and it was still a 45 minute wait at 2:30 in the afternoon! Luckily for us, 2 people got up from the bar and we got to sit right away. The place is very quaint New England. It sits right over the water and is so picturesque. The servers were very nice, came up to give us menus and offer drinks right away! The place was completely full, but they still greeted us almost immediately. We ordered a basket of onion rings, a cup of clam chowder and a cup of lobster bisque. This chowder was the freaking bomb! I've never had it with dill but wowza!! Highly recommend it! My husband said his bisque was incredible. The size of the lobster meat was unreal! It was the biggest chunk I've seen in a cup of soup/bisque. The onion rings were delicious, they had the perfect amount of breading on them. ”
“ Perhaps it was because we just finished a two hour Segway tour in 22 degree weather and we were frozen, or that we were starving because we didn't really eat lunch, but the late lunch we had here was absolutely fantastic! (I actually think the food is just really great despite our circumstances). We had three bowls of clam chowder on our trip and this one was, hands down, the best! The amount of clams and dill...oh my! I will try to recreate this at home. The fish and chips were also excellent. The lightly battered fresh fish and excellently cooked fries are nothing like we get in Cincinnati. The service was prompt and very friendly. Just to note, our Segway tour guide gave us a heads up about this place or we would have never known about it. So glad he did! ”
“ Had a delicious dinner here at Boston Sail Loft. Whenever I have out of town guests, this is always my first place to go for seafood. I love the location, right on the water, it's cute and quaint. The service is always kind and fast. BSL is known for their Clam Chowder, seriously... GET IT. You will not regret it, so creamy and full of deliciousness. We shared some mussels which were also great. It was a huge portion and I enjoyed the dipping options. I had my meal of the 10oz white fish and it was very light and great. It's my go to meal here when I come here. Love this place and you will to! ”
“ If you're in the mood for lobster I highly recommend this spot. It's right on the water century located in the financial district. It was three of us. We ended up ordering eight whole lobsters a lobster roll two fried clams and 2 cups of clam chowder. List off with the ambience cool little spot great Boston vibe. The managers on duty were fabulous. The weight staff was on point. The lobsters were fresh and piping hot. We may have overdone it because we ordered eight lobsters. But they were delicious. I would go again only for the lobster clam chowder and the fried clams not so much on the Boston cream pie. That was a little disappointing but super cool spot while you're in Boston and if you love lobster highly recommend. ”
“ We visited Boston for 4 days and wanted to get dinner here on our first night in the city. The food was incredible. I actually dream about the lobster rolls & clam chowder soup. I thought I hated clam chowder soup! It's so upsetting that I live so far away because I swear I'd be ordering every other day. After our first dinner, we continued to eat here for the rest of our time in Boston. Yup. 4 days straight of just Boston Sail Loft. We would've kept up the streak if we didn't have to leave. Also special mention for their clam chowder, lobster mac & cheese, and calamari. Delicious! I would personally skip the stir fry as that was the only dish we weren't particularly wowed by. The service was excellent and the ambiance of the place is adorable as it's right by the water. I would just recommend going early to put your name down as reservations fill up quickly!! ”
“ Had a great time catching up with a coworker here. I had only heard good things about Boston Sail Loft so I knew this would be a good spot to meet at. We both ordered the clam chowder (a must try if you come here). Absolutely fantastic. No wonder it's the talk of the town. I got a buffalo chicken sandwich and that thing was no joke. I literally had two meals in one. I took half the sandwich home it was so big! A little messy to eat but not horrible. My coworker got a lobster roll and and that was also LOADED with lobster. I hadn't seen anything like it before. One thing for sure is they're not skimping out on portions here! ”
“ I can see why Boston Sail Loft is landing on so many top Boston restaurant lists! I met a colleague here for dinner on my first night in Boston, and I was able to check off so many of my Boston must-eats while taking in this small, dockside eatery. To start, the hosts were on top of managing their waitlist. I put my name in around 5:30 p.m. on a Sunday night, and they ended up calling me about 10 minutes later to tell me my table was ready. And I started with the clam chowder. I think this is a requirement if you visit Boston. Even though the fall day that I visited was unseasonably warm, this overflowing cup of soup still soothed the soul. I also ordered the lobster roll -- I mean, obviously. I opted to get this cold, and it was overflowing -- much like the soup; is this a theme? -- with large pieces of fresh lobster. The fries that came on the side were also perfect. Our server was quick and on top of our needs. Plus when you're done you can then walk along the water. This is a small but mighty eatery packed with Boston favorites! ”
